LOCAL vs. CLOUD vs. HYBRID File Sharing

IRISSolutions_HybridSharing-blogpost

Ok. So we have the FileFetch offering for our clients that want access to their data while they are on the move (AKA NOT IN THE OFFICE) while still having the same amount of security and protection they expect from us.

Now let’s talk about the 3 different types of file sharing.

Local Storage

This is your traditional File-Based Server. Access is controlled via parameters around the user and files. Access is also limited to the office or via a VPN or Remote desktop connection. Mobile access is difficult.

Cloud Based File Storage

In essence, the cloud is someone else’s computer. With larger companies (like DropBox) you are at the mercy of their security measures, and internal policies. Risks include wide spread data breaches (ie the 2012 DropBox Data Breach)

FileFetch can allow you to store and sync your data with our IRIS Solutions servers. We host the data. We control the security. We ensure backups for the data. And, yes, this includes a mobile app.

Hybrid File Storage

This offering of FileFetch blends the traditional file server with the cloud. The server is in the office however you get all of the perks of mobile access and file syncing while still maintaining local control and granular security.

Give us a call and see which version works best for you and your business.
