Before you go bananas for Tablets: Here’s a list of questions to consider.

Tablets are wonderful. They are portable, lightweight, and they just look freaking cool.

However – before you purchase 5 tablets for the office or try to replace your traditional box computers with tablets, run through this list to see if a tablet is right for you and your team:

  1. What do you plan on using the tablet for?
    • Are you just using it to check email, surf the web, and edit documents on the go?
    • Are you using it to remote into your desktop at home or into the office?
    • Are you using it with your Line of Business Software? Do they have an App? Is the software compatible with the tablet? (Pay attention to RAM/Hard Drive space!)
  2. Where do you plan on using it?
    • Are you just relying on WI-FI or do you need a device configured for Cellular? Heads up! Surface Pros do not have this configuration option!
    • If you are going somewhere remote or to a location that does not have WI-FI consider a Hotspot from Verizon or AT&T.
  3. What are you storing on the tablet? And where will you need to access it?
  4. Do you need cameras? If so, do you need them on the front and back of the tablet?
  5. How long will you need to use the tablet for? How long is the battery life and do you need a backup battery pack?

These are questions to get the ball rolling but for the full evaluation- reach out to IRIS!
